1. Fixing agents, which carry a cationic gropus such as quaternary ammonium salts or tertiary amine salts, dye, which carries a anionic grouops, can form insoluble color complexes that deposit on the fibers, thereby improving the color fastness of the dye on the fabric.
2. the reactive groups in the fixing agent molecules are used to undergo a crosslinkage reaction with the reactive groups from the dye molecules and the hydroxyl groups from the cellulose molecules, therebyreducing the water solubility of the dye.
